Coupon shopping used to be a really fabulous way to save money on groceries. However, in recent years it has been much less lucrative. There are times when coupons can still save you money.
The cheapest way to coupon is to use printable coupons and a free online service. The price of having the newspaper delivered just to get the coupons is sometimes not that great of a savings. So, printable coupons are nice because you print only what you want.
Some key things to know:
- Many coupon websites only have a specific number of coupons available in your zip code. Try multiple zip codes.
- You can use up to 3 coupons of the same type at most stores, however, most websites will only allow you to print 2 of each coupon. Occassionally they allow more.
- You can use one coupon per item.
- If you have more than one computer in your home, you should be able to print 2 coupons from each computer.

If you are looking for something specific, it is a good idea to just do a web search for a coupon on that item. Beware of websites where you have to register to receive a coupon unless you know it is a reputable website (like tide.com or windex.com). For products that you buy every week or month, signing up for a specific product’s website to receive coupons can save you money and get extra offers mailed to you.
