I have sensitive skin. My face reddens quickly with ingredients like “alcohol”, retinol, and various acids. I’ve been looking for facial cleansers, masks, and moisturizers that are:
- Will not cause redness
- Work well
Here are a couple that are easy to make at home with ingredients available in most homes.
(For Oily Skin)
Mix baking soda with water to make a creamy paste. Rub in circular motions all over your face and neck.
Notes: I use the basic baking soda in my kitchen. This one is great for acne as well and also for oily scalp problems. My skin feels so clean and soft afterwards and I’ve noticed my pores are getting smaller. I use this one once or twice a week.
Sea-salt and Olive Oil
1 tsp olive oil (cold pressed)
1 tsp sea salt
1 Vitamin-E Oil Capsule
Mix the olive oil and sea salt. Clip the end of the vitamin-e capsule and squirt into the mixture and stir. Apply gently to a wet face and scrub in circular motions.
Notes: I buy the sea salt that is table ready. Using the rock salt type will be really rough. This one exfoliates nicely and leaves the face soft. If you have oily skin it will be really oily, so be careful. I only use this one once in awhile in the winter when I feel chapped or flaky.
(All Skin Types)
Crack the egg open and gently separate the yolk from the white. Save the yolk for another facial recipe. Keep the whites for this mask. Use a folk to lightly fluff the white. Tie your hair back and apply the egg white all over your face. Relax with some cucumber slices on your eyes for about 10 minutes until the mask hardens. Rinse with warm water.
Notes: I use this one whenever I remember. I noticed that I have fewer lines now around my mouth, forehead and eyes.
